While on a trip to Chicago I was short on money and borrowed $50 from my mom.
After my return home, every week or so I’d write a letter to her and enclose a $5 to $10 check.
Often, she’d call me up just to tell me how much she enjoyed my letters, regardless of the money, because I had never written her so regularly before.
Eventually I sent her off a letter and a final check of $5!
Then….in my mail box…the very next week, I found an envelope from my mother.
Inside was another $50.
